About the Role
You’ll work within the marketing and brand teams and will leverage social media to increase the company’s visibility, membership and traffic.
Reporting to the director of acquisition, working closely with the search engine specialist and brand communications team, the social media specialist will be responsible for creating and executing comprehensive social media strategies that compliment our SEO and brand efforts, drive acquisition and meet budget goals.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Development and execution of strategic social media plans across all social media platforms including, but not limited to, Twitter, Facebook, Google +, You Tube, Pinterest, tumblr and social bookmarking sites.
- Work closely with the search engine specialist to ensure social media activities are in line with SEO strategies and link cultivation activity.
- Outlining a clear and concise user link generation strategy to be executed across all social media channels.
- Ensure that all social media channels are being optimised to initiate and maintain a dialogue with targeted influencers.
- Organically grow and nurture fans/followers largely through hosting creative events, exciting challenges, unique content, dynamic imagery and building an active influencer network.
- Collaborate with the brand team and SEO specialist on identifying new and valuable social media content opportunities.
- Strategically expand and maintain the current content distribution network through social media channels and bookmarking sites.
- Work with inter-departmental teams to implement social media strategies.
- Monitor industry and general trends in social media and apply that knowledge to increase social media effectiveness.
- Attendance and participation in all weekly marketing strategy meetings.
- Daily monitoring and tracking of social media goals and delivery of weekly, monthly and ad-hoc performance reports as required.

Required Skills and Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience
- 3+ years experience in social media marketing
- Strong understanding of search engine optimization principles and techniques
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven experience facilitating social media programs that drive business results
- Strong project management skills
- Extensive knowledge of social media platforms (twitter, Facebook, Google +)
- Previous experience leveraging influencer communities and collaborating on content strategies to maximize brand engagement
- Comfortable researching, finding connecting with people, media and clients online
- Strong analytical skills
- Able to work independently
