Social Media Specialist Job in Foster City 94404, California US
The Social Media Specialist will support
SCEA’s social media program to better serve consumers. This position will be
responsible for performing many of the day-to-day logistical operations and
executions within the scope of the PlayStation.Blog, Facebook, and various
content streams (YouTube, Flickr, etc). Applicant will be expected to help
navigate outgoing news content through various approval channels and manually
prep posts for public viewing. The Specialist will also be expected to perform
comment moderation responsibilities, elevating important developments to
appropriate stakeholders.
Principle Duties / Responsibilities:
- Maintain
and execute day-to-day Blog duties such as copy-editing, publishing,
fact-checking, and securing approvals to ensure posts adhere to strict accuracy
and timing requirements. - Update
and maintain our third-party multimedia partner sites (YouTube, Flickr, etc) on
a daily basis, to keep photos and videos current and accessible. - Serve
as lead comment moderator, elevating important feedback to appropriate
stakeholders. - Fill
in for other social media roles and support as needed.
Required Knowledge / Skills:
- Must
have excellent written communications skills to ensure accurate, grammatically
correct public-facing blog and social media postings. - Experience
with web publishing platforms (eg. WordPress) is required. - Knowledge
of current videogame landscape strongly preferred. - Excellent
interpersonal skills a must. - Preferred
candidate will be well versed in all corners of the web, from current media
applications to blog architecture to basic HTML skills, to ensure smooth,
continual content delivery. - Intermediate-level
Photoshop skills strongly preferred.
Required
Experience / Education:
· At
least 2 years experience in electronic media (with a branded blog or website) required
Preferred Experience
/ Education:
· Experience
in traditional media outlet or agency useful, as position will need ability to
deliver content under deadline pressure.
· Experience
working at a major, high traffic website preferred, as PlayStation social media
programs reach millions of readers weekly.
