Social Media Specialist

As a social media specialist, this person will possess the technical know-how and be responsible for implementing and managing the functions and tactics of the company?s social media channels, including competitive landscape analysis, Radian 6 social listening reporting, vernacular identification and integration of Coremetrics (Lowes.com sales reporting tool) reports into the weekly dashboard. Additionally, this person will understand an integrated marketing plan, anticipate the evolution of the social media space and be able to execute against the developed strategy and tactics by curating relevant content and managing the release cadence of our social media editorial content, including Facebook, Google+, Twitter, You Tube, and other engagement opportunities on social media channels. Due to the always-on nature of Social Media, this position will require some evening and weekend work. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Lead efforts to: ?Contributes to creation of strategic vision of the social media landscape and its role in branding and marketing to infuse social media strategies, trends and best practices ?Track and prepare social media influence measurement reports, partnering with other internal and external departments (Lowes.com, Marketing, Merchandising, Public Relations, Corporate Communications, advertising agencies) to ensure proper online messaging and relevancy to promotional calendar while keeping awareness and sensitivities to company-wide initiatives and changes. ?Curate content to maintain and grow social media engagement. ?Defines and reports on key performance indicators to determine success of efforts. ?Provide thought leadership and POVs on emerging technologies, new service offerings, trends and behaviors in the social and mobile marketing space. ?Project management and oversight of various teams, tasks and deadlines to ensure execution of results-driven programs ?General HTML and content management system knowledge ?Identify hot issues and be able to provide real-time updates on important business issues (crisis management). ?Demonstrate proficient understanding and experience with Web 2.0 channels and a great affinity for learning new technologies, including but not limited to Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, social media monitoring tools, blogger relations ?Subject matter expert on the Vitrue Technology Platform used to manage and analyze all Lowe?s social media channels ?Creative and analytical skills ?Solid verbal and written communication expertise POSITION REQUIREMENTS ?Minimum 3-5 years of digital/social media experience ?Bachelor's degree in marketing, English, journalism, advertising, website management, interactive design,and/or relevant work experience. ?Solid verbal and written communication expertise ?Creative and analytical skills ?Compelling presentation skills ?Strong organization skills for project management ?Experienced using technology for project management and efficiencies (Excel, Word, digital asset management systems, marketing resource management systems.) ?Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task simultaneously meeting deadlines. ?Extreme passion for the social media space. ?Knowledge on how to use and leverage the various social media space, tools, blogs, listening tools, analytics, etc. ?Ability to analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for changing or revising social media campaigns. ?Team player, with the confidence to take the lead when necessary. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ?Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
