The Defense and Maritime Solutions Business Unit is seeking a Software Application Engineer for the Virginia Beach, VA office. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Software Application Engineer will provide primary maintenance support for the hardware operations, program extractor, application and database maintenance on-site and at associated COOP. Provide system administration to keep the operational server suite ready, stable, and reliable for users, as well as loading, validating, and maintaining data loaded on the operational server suite. Ensure proper IA compliance and maintenance to include running of SRR's, Retina scans, database assistance, Net Ops work, etc. Provide data, and documentation maintenance for software maintenance, software validation and quality assurance practices, server software changes, configuration management, generation of operational procedures related to additional or updated capabilities, authoritative data sources, and documentation updates to include the User's Manual and Administrator's Manual. Operation and administration responsibilities shall include: loading and configuring data files, implementing control features, and entering user and application data as required. Provide administration of user accounts and permissions when necessary. support quality control of the information to be distributed on the servers. Support web-services inputs and outputs as necessary to enable a services oriented architecture (SOA) for web portal based exchange of information along with appropriate documentation. Provide graphics, documentation, and compiled source code for CMP for any maintenance action. Identify required software and hardware for product validation. Qualifications : REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and 5+ years experience. Knowledge of PHP, C#, ASP.NET, VB, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, XML, CSS, TSQL, RDL, Visual Studio and Windows Server 2003/2008. Develops software to collect, process, and present data to logistics and financial personnel in formats that meet client requirements. Stages and maintains servers that host Web applications. Maintain source code versions and repositories among other software engineers. Takes advantage of open-source solutions including PHP, Drupal, TRAC and implementations of RDL to provide users with cost effective enterprise capable applications.
