TransCore, a subsidiary of Roper Industries, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking full-time Software Application Engineer to join our IT team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

 

Job Summary:   Responsible for efficient use of the application software – specifically Visual Studio development and stored procedure development in SQL Server.  This .Net Applications Developer/Support role ensures the stable operation of the in-house software application.  Working in a team based Microsoft environment, the person will be responsible for applying technical solutions to business problems and needs as identified by our customers.  In this role the developer will be responsible for the troubleshooting existing application, design, development, documentation and testing of production-level, mission-critical enterprise software in a distributed n-tier environment.  As part of Application Systems team, this person will work in project team, under the supervision of a Project Leader, and interface frequently with the business units and customers to ensure the quality and accuracy of system deliverables.  They will be involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including analysis design, development, testing, deployment and post implementation issue resolution.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·         .NET Visual Studio development including C#.NET, ASP.NET and VB.NET

·         SQL Server 2000/2005 jobs on both the production and the test environment – working with large data sets

·         Development/modification of customer reports

·         Visual Source Safe Configuration Management or other CM tools

·         System troubleshooting, problem identification

·         Client Server relationships

 

Required Skills Education: 

·         BS Degree in Software Engineering (or similar) or equivalent experience or certifications

·         4+ years of professional experience developing and maintaining solutions in C#.NET, ASP.NET and VB.NET based on nTier architecture and complete SDLC experience.

·         4+ years of professional experience utilizing SQL Server 2000/2005 for data storage in large-scale.NET solutions.

·         Knowledge of build/deployment tools

·         3 years of Windows O/S

·         Able to work as a team member

·         Good verbal, phone, and written communication skills
