The Kindle Fire Core Experience team is focused on building the core components like the carousel and libraries and a word class experience for our Kindle Fire customers that’s very fluid, fast and delightful to use. We leverage the latest Android technologies and cutting edge Amazon features to continually improve the UI while adding new and innovative features.

As a key member of the engineering team building the best tablet device on the planet, you will contribute to all aspects of the software lifecycle: design, experimentation, implementation and testing. You will be responsible for devising the next generation of UI components that provide a personalized and highly intuitive experience that feels magical. • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, with 4+ years experience
• Professional experience in software development
• Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
• Computer Science fundamentals in data structures
• Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
• Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, C#, Java

• 5-7+ years of experience building production software
• A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals (based on a BS or MS in CS or related field)
• Deftness at object-oriented design and systems architecture
• Mastery of the tools of the trade, including a variety of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Objective C) and open-source technologies
• Development experience writing application for a mobile platform (Android, iOS, etc.)
• Experience providing high-performing, developer-centric tools and frameworks
• Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
