We assure you it isn't a dark cave of coders, but a buzzing open-plan area full of some of the most passionate engineers and designers driven by two common passions – food and beautiful products.
To be part of the Zomato technology team, you need to have a deep passion for coding, and also be versatile enough to explore and solve problems across various facets of computer science, including:
- Algorithms and design
- Information retrieval
- Machine learning
- Distributed computing
- Large-scale system design
- Advanced database and data-warehousing
- Graph theory
- User interface design
The list goes on, and grows every day 🙂
Your responsibilities is something you create as you go, but here are the core ones:
- Own what you code; own the product – even the bugs you create
- Come up with innovative solutions to the hurdles that confront us on a day-to-day basis
- Discover, design, develop, deploy, debug. Repeat.
- Collaborate with the team and communicate effectively – within the team, and with the rest of the organisation as well
- Pioneer product ideas and work with the team implement them
Main requirements
- Experience with distributed computing/big data technologies like Spark, NoSQL etc.
- Experience with AWS platform like Linux, S3, EC2, Autoscale, Redshift etc
- A serious passion for coding, with the ability to intuitively pick up and use any new language/protocol/framework.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with DBs like MySQ
