Software Developer: FogBugz at Fog Creek Software (New York, NY) (allows remote)
Job Description
Have you considered applying to Fog Creek but hesitated because your friends call you a "really nice person" rather than a "coding animal"? Or maybe you couldn't see yourself pulling up stakes and moving to New York City? Well, this may change all that.
The FogBugz team is looking for a developer to join the team, and in a change of pace we're happy to consider remote applicants. So, if you're happily settled in Crested Butte, CO, but ready to turn out a steady stream of customer facing improvements to the product, you may be the perfect addition to the team.
FogBugz is the world's easiest bug tracking system, built for teams who are serious about making great software. FogBugz has been around for a while, and we're looking for someone to help it keep going strong: Fixing the bugs that cause customers pain, and implementing the features that customers need.
Will you be tied to a future of chasing down bugs in decade old ASP code? Nope. FogBugz is beta-testing Project Ocelot, a blazingly fast front-end built on top of ElasticSearch with delicious layer upon layer of jQuery, underscore, Handlebars, and Less CSS. We're excited about how this new infrastructure will help us to rapidly iterate on customer needs, and we want you to be that iterator.
As a FogBugz Developer you will:
- Do maintenance development: fixing bugs, and implementing features as determined by customer priorities.
- Assist the customer support team in diagnosing and correcting customer issues.
- Assist the operations team in diagnosing and correcting operational issues.
