As a Software Developer at the Company, you will work closely with customers, product management, and the rest of the engineering team to conceive, design, and implement new features; maintain existing code; and debug the complex, multi-factored issues that arise when robots and humans interact. You will work on all aspects of the Company's products, from on-robot software to enterprise integration components, with your focus determined by your skills and interests. There's nothing like seeing your code drive around the building and customer sites! This position is a key part of their engineering organization, so you must be able to communicate clearly with individuals from different backgrounds as your work progresses from design through coding and testing all the way to final delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Create high quality code to be used in our core robotic and server products
- Conceive and implement solutions to complex problems
- Write design documentation for new features and changes
- Work remotely with field personnel to debug and resolve problems that arise
- Create unit tests for your code
- Be an integral part of the team building the next generation of material handling robots
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or related discipline plus 2-4 yrs. experience or Master’s Degree in a technical discipline
- Solid knowledge of C++
- Good knowledge of Linux/Unix
- Some coding ability in scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python)
- Personable, with great written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a self-starter with a can-do attitude, comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovative environment
- Embedded Linux experience a plus
- Robotics or other hardware experience helpful
- Web programming experience (e.g. Django and similar frameworks) useful
- Database design experience a plus
