THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently seeking an exceptional Software Developer to join our innovative Learning Seat team and work on projects that develop and support the system towards a modern design using creative and original techniques.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing software applications from functional briefs
- Meeting with and understanding internal stakeholder requirements
- Working on internal projects while looking for continuous refinement and improvement
- Providing system and technical support to internal users
- Contributing to a highly collaborative, agile development environment
THE CANDIDATE
Apart from having exceptional attention to detail; your other strengths include your strong organisation, analysis and problem solving skills, solid team building and interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to show initiative, and deliver quality work.
In addition the successful candidate will bring with them:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in software engineering
- 3+ years experience in commercial J2EE/Java software development
- Experience with Spring MVC, Hibernate, Maven, SQL, jQuery, XML, JSON, SVN/Git, JAX, application servers (Tomcat, JBoss..) and web services
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies including Scrum, BDD and TDD
- Experience with test driven development using JUnit, Mockito and Hamcrest
- Strong understanding of object orientated programming concepts and design patterns
Previous exposure to learning management systems or education software development is highly desirable.
