Software Developer (Ruby) at Onfido (London, United Kingdom) (allows remote)
Job Description
Hey!
Onfido is an 18-month-old Oxford University funded startup. We’re a small, private London-based technology firm with the aim of disrupting the background checking industry. We've created a data driven platform to help employers make fast, informed decisions on who they can trust. We have a growing number of clients (including FTSE 250 companies) with +30% monthly revenue growth.
We're looking for a full stack developer to join our young team and help build out version 2 of our system. Our team is small and fluid, with a flat hierarchy. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to different areas of the code-base as well as choose which projects interest you.
We're offering a starting salary of £30-40K, and equity of 1-3%.
We're currently based 1 min from King's Cross station in London.
(NO RECRUITERS PLEASE)
Skills Requirements
Our service is built on Ruby on Rails, but particular experience is not a prerequisite for the role. It's more important that you have a good grounding in computer science, web development and an eagerness to learn.
Requirements:
Experience with Ruby, Python or a similar language
Number of years of professional experience with a web framework like Ruby on Rails, Django, Sinatra or similar
Front-end programming skills using JavaScript (JQuery / AJAX).
Knowledge of TDD and agile methodologies using RSpec, Cucumber
Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL
Linux server administration experience
Deployment knowledge using GitHub, Capistrano, Team City or similar
