Manageability Services Group is a relatively new group with clear charter to help make the Cloud computing vision for Microsoft a reality. We build software to manage the massive Microsoft Data Center infrastructure which spans all over the world. The number of servers is getting to millions. At this scale, the room for error is close to non-existence. Services must be up 99.99% of the time. The software we build in this team will help sustainability of this goal as the Data Center size continues to scale. The candidate will work on features that contribute to the above, be a great communicator and team player, and be able to drive feature areas independently. Experience Required: -2+ years of software engineering experience; must have gone through multiple full release cycles -Working knowledge of SQL -Proven software design, programming in either C++ or C# -Advanced knowledge of algorithms -Understanding of relational database concepts and TSQL -Excellent debugging skills -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Self-motivated and drive for excellence -Great technical passion and terrific problem solving skills -Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred Nice to have: -Knowledge of Data warehousing concepts -Knowledge of NoSQL technologies -Experience in large scale Internet application and distributed systems Microsoft is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) and strongly supports diversity in the work place.
