Software Distribution Engineer

Ø  Duties require a variety of comprehensive computing, data communication and telecommunication skills, familiarity with various diverse operating environments, applications and equipment, and will vary depending upon the end-user(s) serviced.

Ø  Responsibilities may encompass but not limited to the following:

o    SMS / SCCM administration

o    Hardware and software technical support analysis

o    Communications and network systems analysis

o    Testing and analysis

o    Software quality assurance and testing

o    Software automation.

o    Change Management

o    Patch Management

o    Coordination with Imaging and Packaging teams for resolution of software distribution and installation issues

o    Running SMS / SCCM Reports

o    Implementing test plans, migration plans, and delivery plans

o    Deliver high-quality solutions to our customers to ensure their investment in technology is consistent with their business objectives.

o    Technical meetings and presentations with ACS customers

 

4.         KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

 

Ø  Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Ø  Minimum of 3-5 years of related SMS/SCCM support experience.

Ø  A comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of computing processes and technology including, servers, gateways, communications equipment, workstations, software and hardware and associated diagnostics and tools. (Specifics are defined/vary by applicable end-user area.)  Knowledge of voice, digital, data compression and call center technology also recommended.

Ø  Comprehensive PC literacy.

Ø  Windows O/S (XP, Win7)

Ø  Strong scripting skills in VBScript and/or PowerShell

Ø  Group Policy

Ø  SMS SQL database support

Ø  Windows Firewall

Ø  Commitment to customer-focused contract performance.

Ø  Strong customer service orientation and appreciation of role as ACS representative.

Ø  Maturity of judgment under pressure/ability to diagnose level of user need and make work assignments accordingly.

Ø  Considerable end-user interface by phone and/or in-person necessitates strong (clear) verbal communication skills and credible customer presence.

Ø  Good written skills and the ability to contribute to and/or lead the written proposal process.

Ø  Flexibility and the ability to operate under stressful, time-sensitive deadlines.

Ø  Commitment to quality and personal ethics.

Ø  Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
