Software Engineer
Strengthening the SLAs of the Anti-Virus service by maintaining and developing systems and tools to improve the level of service offered.
Contributing towards definition and creation of new and enhanced systems and techniques to identify and combat Spam and Viruses
Active role in monitoring and responding to the Virus threat. Work with Spam and AV Operations to raise the customer experience to the highest level.
Producing requirements for virus and/or spam engine developments.
Contributing towards the planning process with specific responsibility for estimates, with justification, for own work and constructive review of team work.
Completing all tasks as defined and prioritised in the project plan, ensuring all code is written, reviewed, tested and integrated with the rest of the project code base and version control system.
Investigating False Positive and False Negative reports, resolving defects and re-releasing the fixed detection.
Identifying new technologies for malware research and creating deliverables to improve detection capabilities of AV Engine.
Providing data on malware characteristics and trends.
Devising and conducting research experiments with live traffic and new technologies to formulate new ways of malware identification.
Presenting ongoing work and findings to colleagues at conferences and producing papers which describe methodology and findings.
