Software Engineer
We have an exciting new opportunity for a talented software engineer in the Orange County Area! The Embedded Linux Engineer's accountability is to develop firmware for embedded Linux platforms. The everyday responsibilities include customizing development atmospheres, executing operational management applications, developing kernel drivers to support custom hardware, configuring filesystem, customizing bootloader kernel for numerous processor architectures, porting open-source software.
Qualifications:
- BSCS/BSEE required, MSCS/MSEE preferred
- Five years’ experience developing software for embedded Linux platforms
- Solid attention to details, computer literate, highly organized
- Skill with embedded Linux filesystems, loadable kernel modules, kernel startup procedure, MTD
- Proven software programming expertise (scripting /C/C++)
- Understanding of components of open source apps such as OpenSSL, QT, Samba, SQLite, Apache
- Skill deploying commercial embedded Linux systems
- Exceptional communication abilities (verbal written)
- Solid knowledge of hardware processor necessities around embedded Linux
- Embedded audio/video skill
- Skill porting open source software to embedded platforms
- Capability to work well in a fast-paced professional office atmosphere
- Understanding of Linux driver architecture, especially associated with Framebuffer, ALSA, Video4Linux, USB, SPI, I2C
Preferred:
- Knowledge of hardware processor necessities around embedded Linux
- Understanding of file-system, driver architecture, Linux kernel
- Skill with graphics accelerators embedded Linux audio/video
- Embedded Linux audio/video skill
- Skill with OpenGL, graphics accelerators
