Current Top Secret - US Citizenship Required about security clearance definitions Position Description Proprietary systems have a need for a senior level Software and Network System architect responsible for leading software design and development effort. Candidate will be responsible for the host architecture and processing software efforts. In addition, the successful candidate will also be responsible for the interfaces to the targeted host platform program software. Tasks will include evaluation of software and architecture developed under previous program efforts for potential re-use, applying/structuring for the architecture, and advising senior management regarding long-range planning in areas of software process and technology advancement. Candidate will be expected to mentor team members in the application of software integration and test methodologies for challenging, but obtainable goals and schedules for software build integration, test/validation and qualification. Ensure technical approaches and deliverables comply with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements. Assist with technical issues as well as coordination of test equipment usage scheduling and prioritization. Extensive coordination with external stakeholders and other Boeing engineering groups will be required. Examples of products include aircraft, missiles, airborne/shipboard/space systems/ground-based operational systems and real-time support systems such as simulators and training systems. + Real-time Target Environment Advanced, expert knowledge of real-time target environments, including processor and network architectures, communication protocols, simulation frameworks and electrical interfaces. Ability to build, integrate and troubleshoot software components. + Systems Trade Studies Advanced/expert of trade study process (e.g., benchmarking, best value). Basic Qualifications For Consideration Do you have experience in C++ and JAVA programming languages? Do you have experience with software architecture principles, requirements and interfaces, and software systems engineering experience? Do you have experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming? Typical Education/Experience Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years experience, Master's with 12 or more years experience or PhD with 9 or more years experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Other Job related information Candidate must have domain knowledge and experience in the theories and application of system architectures, software architecture, software/hardware integration, embedded processing, and interface design. Experiences in the following additional technologies are highly desirable: Solaris, Linux, and Cisco Network solutions. OOD, Middleware, embedded development, Java, C, C++ development and component based software.
