Software Engineer
Our growth team focuses on the demand side of our marketplace to expand our reach and find new customers. We engage with travelers at all stages of their journey, and work across channels to bring them onboard and start their relationship with GetYourGuide.
The team is small and empowered, which means you can contribute and take ownership from day one. You will build tests and features, contribute to the backlog, continuously deploy your code to production, and monitor how your work impacts customers. Our data-driven culture will also drive learning and collaboration on the team through code reviews, visible A/B test results, and regular business updates.
Some of our projects
- Scaling our search engine marketing program to be smarter about seasonal trends, inventory levels, competitive dynamics, and visitor location and language.
- Applying machine learning models to re-engage with previous visitors through emails and notifications.
- Forecasting and estimating inventory levels to automate our acquisition methods and keep our supply levels up, and customers satisfied
- Dynamic ad serving system for reseller partners and affiliates to target their audience with relevant products
Main requirements
Great candidates should have:
- Passion for travel and exploring new destinations
- Exposure to A/B testing, quickly turning ideas and concepts into working code
- Experience building scalable and maintainable software
- Demonstrated expertise working with PHP or Python with interests in other languages
- Experience hacking lean front-end user interfaces
- Exposure to data patterns and usage in high-volume data architectures
- Interest in large-scale ad tools, data mining or machine learning
