We are a growing company specialising in the design and operation of sophisticated electronic security systems including Electronic Monitoring integrating with Cashless Vending, and CCTV. Access Control systems are installed and integrated into customer IT networks. Systems are IP based, networked to PCs and interfaced with other systems, often working from one platform across multiple locations.
To help develop applications to meet these requirements, we require the appointment of a Software Development Engineer.
The role will be involved in the full software development lifecycle. Experience in access control software is not required but would be a significant advantage. However the candidate will require a technical depth in software skill sets (as below) particularly related to networked environments and some knowledge of IT systems:
- Basic knowledge of IP Networking.
- Understanding of SQL databases, installation, configuration and data manipulation.General programming skills.
- Sound knowledge of C.
- Excellent knowledge of Windows and security policies.
Experience Required:
• An absolute minimum of 5 years hands-on software development experience
• Experience developing or managing the development of software products
• Experience that includes having worked on a software product that has been implemented and then upgraded, having seen it through more than one release.
• Exemplary communications skills, both written and oral
• Willingness to travel up to a third of the time throughout UK
