Freespace Motion Solutions use low cost, off the shelf MEMS sensors combined with adaptive signal processing and advanced situational awareness algorithms to create a high performance system. The Software Engineer in Test (SEIT) will develop and execute tests on MEMS sensors to be used in Freespace Motion Control systems.   In addition, the SEIT will use an in-depth understanding of individual sensor systems to maximize performance beyond original product specifications.   The SEIT will have the chance to work with the latest MEMS accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, and combined sensor fusion devices. 

 

Responsibilities include software tool development, research of new sensor technology, hardware qualification, and statistical analysis of large data sets.  The ideal candidate will have a broad skill set in programming and mathematics and a strong desire to learn.

 

Responsibilities

·        Coordinate test execution including physical test, resource coordination, and validation of results

·        Complete statistical analysis of large data sets

·        Create software development tools

·        Develop new test procedures, implement sensor drivers, and develop test driver software

·        Prepare detailed test reports

·        Collaborate with team members on hardware/software system design

 

Qualifications

·       B.S. in Computer Science, Applied  Mathematics,  Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field with 3 years relevant professional experience

·       Proficient in object-oriented programming (Java, C#, C++, etc.) and Matlab

·       Experience with testing test processes, preferably with tracking or navigation systems

·       Experience with mathematics and physics including statistics, kinematics, quaternion calculus, linear algebra

·       Familiar with digital signal processing (DSP) and understanding of communications concepts and protocols

·       Mature, self-motivated and capable of working both independently and in a team

·       Detail oriented

·       Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to clearly and persuasively articulate technical ideas
