Responsible for performing routine technical assignments to support research, development, design, test and other software engineering activities under close supervision. The incumbent works under general supervision and uses judgment in making minor changes and adaptations. The position supports product or program development using knowledge, principles and practices of software engineering technology. His/her work may include portions of a broader assignment of a more senior engineer or part of a program/project in the areas of product design and/or development,
manufacturability, product quality and test or systems compatibility. He/she receives guidance and review of work accuracy from more senior engineers.
- Follows prescribed procedures to assist with various phases of company programs
- Assist Sr. Software Engineers in support of product or program development using knowledge, principals and practices of software engineering
- Uses standard company procedures and practices to perform a variety of software engineering work
- Plans and performs engineering research, design, development, test and deployment assignments for software engineering on less complex projects/products than those normally assigned to a higher level engineer
- Work within technical, budget and schedule requirements of the program and identify corrections to variations from the program plan with respect to technical, budget and schedule issues.
- Investigates and uses state of the art design structures to produce simple and flexible software solutions
- Ensures the compatibility of code design with the overall system architecture during the development and design stage
- May act as the liaison between program/product management and members of the engineering staff
- Support system level design, analysis, and integration to ensure overall project success
- Troubleshoot and correct problems down to the code base level directly with customers on challenges of limited scope
- Works with other members of the engineering staff to ensure that project work is completed in a timely manner
- Updates technical documentation to ensure accuracy and design changes
- BS degree in engineering discipline with emphasis on writing software
- Experience with C++ and Object Oriented Design
- UI Development experience desired (Qt preferred)
- Embedded experience desired
- Experience level: 0 - 3 years
- U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required
