ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This SQL Database Developer will support existing code and databases and develop new systems for internet traffic analytics and reporting. This person will work alongside the .Net development team to analyze, design and deliver requirements from the Software Engineering, Analytics, Panel and Operations teams. This position will report to and will prioritize work established by the Internal Tools Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3-4 years of SQL database development experience in a VLDBs and multi server production environment, current experience with SQL 2005/2008
• Willing to learn and implement “BIG Data” solutions using Hadoop
• Middle tier development experience using C#
• Experience using SQL Server Business Intelligence
• Excellent statistical analysis skills, ability to research and analyze various types of data information
• Communicate effectively and maintain honest and open communication at all times with individuals at all levels internally
• Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours (if necessary) to accomplish business objectives
• The nature of the team’s dynamics will require an individual that is able to work closely in a collaborative role with other team members, as well as complete tasks individually as assigned
• Experience with Agile software development a plus
• Experience with LINQ, XML, XSLT, Object Oriented Programming
• Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, including transactions, begin..try…, merge, common table expressions, ROW_NUMBER/OVER, bulk insert, Filtering and covering indexes, computed columns
• Performance tuning/code debugging
• OLAP, SSAS SSRS
The following skills are helpful but not essential requirements for the development role:
• Experience working with Hive/PIG
• Experience with very large databases (think Terabytes!) and very large tables (think Gigabytes)
• Partitioned Tables/Indexes (Switching/Merging/Splitting)
