Key Responsibilities
- Serves in support of teams, for complete software development lifecycle efforts including:
- Supports generation of effective software-level requirements from allocated functional system-level requirements and/or software prototypes.
- Supports generation of effective software architectures for detailed design development and communication to developers and stakeholders.
- Generates effective detailed design development to conform to defined software architecture, functional software requirements, and/or software prototypes.
- Leads the generation of source code from detailed design for software prototypes and integration.
- Leads generation and execution of unit level testing and support/generates system level testing approaches.
- Generates and leads reviews of software development lifecycle artifacts for assigned software development efforts.
- Supports the generation of and ensures personal adherence to detailed cost/schedule approach for assigned software development responsibilities, including team assignments, progress tracking, and execution to plan.
- Supports project specific tailoring of and enforces personal adherence to all departmental and project specific software development lifecycle processes and procedures.
- Strives for first time quality (zero defect escapes) on all assigned software development efforts.
- Responsible for the collection/generation and use of software metrics for managing of the software development lifecycle on assigned programs.
- Generates departmental process improvement activities focused on the software development lifecycle.
- Responsible for identifying deviations from contact baseline and communicating those deviations to project leadership.
- Supports proposal efforts for assigned business pursuits.
- Travel up to 25% may be required
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:
- Development language expert – C/C++ [Ada 83/95, assembly]{C/C++ with MFC, .Net, Ruby on Rails, HTML/Java Script, JAVA, Oracle (10g preferred)}.
- Software development expert using OOD best practices focused on robust code development and reusability. Experience and knowledge should include OOA development exposure.
- Experience with multiple commercially available RTOS bundles (such as [Green Hills Integrity/Windows CE]{Windows 98/2000/Vista}).
- Strong working knowledge of [embedded development, especially at the hardware level is required.]{application development.}
- Highly skilled in integrating new and modified legacy code into a coherent product.
- Exposure to development and improvement of software development lifecycle processes and procedures.
- A solid understanding of earned value, a strong business mind, forward thinking, and accustomed to making data-driven decisions.
- Solid communication and presentation skills.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or closely related field and a minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience.
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or closely related field and a minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of information assurance and security engineering principals is strongly desired.
- In place of information assurance and security engineering background in-depth knowledge of other similar strict development processes such as RTCA DO-178B, or those associated with medical device development will be considered.
