Your Work at UFA

Chosen candidates will develop and support our industry-leading simulated voice communications and voice recognition and response technology, as well as our Tower and Radar simulators for air traffic controller training, airspace modeling, human factors studies, and embedded test and training of operational Air Traffic Control (ATC) / Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems.

What You’ll Do:

·         Specify, design, develop, and support our ATC simulation products ranging from application development, algorithm development, image generation, voice communications, and voice recognition products.

·         Utilize modern software engineering methods, software tools and support processes on a product development team for one of our many in-house products and customer programs.

 What You Need to Apply:

·         3-5 years software development experience

·         BS Computer Science

·         Unix/Linux

·         Java, C/C++, Shell Scripting (Perl, Python, Bourne), XML

·         Networking:  TCP/IP, UDP, UDP Multicast

·         Multi-threaded programming

·         Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills

·         Work well with a geographically dispersed team

·         Strong communication skills

·         Ability to Travel

 Experience with one/two or more of the following technologies highly desirable:

·         Speech Recognition, Speech Synthesis, Acoustic Modeling, Grammar Development and Tuning

·         Voice Over IP technologies, RTP, RTCP, SIP

·         Virtualization, VMWare

·         Web Tier technologies,  JS, JSP, HTML, HTML5

·         Tablet / Apple IOS application development

Skills that would be considered a plus:

·         Windows Development / Cross Platform development

·         Visual Studio

·         Clearcase and Clearquest

·         Software development in Air Traffic Control environments
