Software Engineer-Singapore Asia recruitment
JOB DESCRIPTION
My client is a globally positioned proprietary trading firm who operate on the cutting edge of algorithmic trading. With well established offices in Chicago and London, the group is looking to continue their expansion of their Singapore site. My client trades across all major asset classes in the US, Asia and Europe and because of their incessant commitment to technology and human capital they are an industry leader that are setting standards in the algorithmic trading space. As a result of the flat management structure they offer a casual working atmosphere to prospective candidates. The managing partners of the firm are passionate about supporting the exploration of new strategies and concepts throughout the working team and are currently looking for an exceptional new Software Engineer.
The Role
The chosen candidate will be joining a small dynamic team of traders and developers working to design; build and test their in house trading systems. The individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable multi-tiered applications and infrastructure and be able to solve difficult technical problems in a fast-paced and demanding environment. This will be a hands-on role covering high performance exchange connectivity, machine learning, advanced pattern recognition, and the creation of complex algorithms.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working directly with quants and traders, taking their ideas to production with ultra lean code and a focus on optimization
- Experience in creating/supporting cross-platform multithreaded applications
- Strong Computer programming skills using C++ in a Windows and Linux environment
- Experience in object-oriented design
- Experience with Multithreaded programming
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong understanding of computer systems e.g. operating systems, networks, performance optimization, etc
- Ability to work on a complete project lifecycle: requirement capturing, design, development and final deployment to production
- Ability to work with team members, yet be motivated and self-directed
- Ability to work on multiple projects and provide proper project estimates
- Experience with strategy development a plus, but not required
- Willingness and desire to constantly improve skills and embrace new ideas
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or its equivalent
- Masters degree from a top-tier university in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field, PhD preferred
