Specific Job Description ID: OSF-COS-SW-011 Location: This position will initially be located at the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Technical Center II (TCII) facility on the west side of Colorado Springs. Current plans are to relocate to Schriever Air Force Base (SAFB) Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) in the May 2012 timeframe. Primarily assigned to the ?OSF Common Object Library ? Data Storage capabilities and COL infrastructure? software component integrated product team (IPT). Position Responsibilities: Analyze, design, code, test, implement, document, and maintain modeling and simulation framework software components and applications for the Missile Defense Agency Modeling and Simulation customer utilizing one or more of the listed technologies. Support project management staff and development team members by translating requirements into high-quality software products, conducting unit and integrated testing, and completing documentation. Plan, process, and perform all jobs in an efficient manner with limited assistance from the supervisor. Perform in a distributed team environment and utilize collaboration tools, such as video teleconferencing and chat. Present to customer audiences or professional peers. Position will be on site with the customer - must maintain positive customer interactions. Provide general administrative support to the organization, as needed. Provide assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems. Provide recommendations to management concerning issues of programmer productivity and software development management. Consult with the IPT Lead and the Technical Manager regarding professional skill development. Assist other software component IPTs as needed. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein in support of the contract. Standard Job Description Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
