Software Engineer Test Engineer

USD is looking for software test engineers to join the Continuous Integration Test (CIT) team to help us build quality into our storage products. We are looking for motivated and talented individuals with hands on experience to manage and execute automated tests, and good track records to deliver quality product on time. The job requires sound system level debugging skills on storage systems, storage networks, and Unix and Windows platforms. Proficiency in both Unix and Windows platforms is required. Good working knowledge of file system architecture, storage, and UNIX/Windows internals is essential. Good communication, teamwork and leadership skills with local and remote teams are required. Responsibilities: ? Manage the execution of the CIT Sanity, Regression, and Bughunt test suites ? Manage and maintain the test equipment and configurations used in CIT testing ? Triage failures to identify product, environmental, or test issues ? On product defects. file detailed problem reports providing all the materials development needs to root cause the failure and design a fix ? Diagnose and fix any test issues found in our CIT test suites ? Work with script owners to get fixes for tests not developed on our team ? Escalate Sanity or Regression defects found so the checkin causing the regression can be identified and corrected. ? Work with CIT Domain Experts to root cause more difficult failures ? Interface with other functional groups like Quality Assurance, Documentation, and Training teams ? Contribute to organizational goals and objectives ? Interact with other groups in EMC regarding technical content and functionality ? Report progress, write specifications as well as respond to requirements documents Skills: · Demonstrated expertise in problem solving · Knowledge in storage subsystems and networks · Systems level knowledge of Linux and Windows platforms and operating systems · Experience with Perl OO programming · Experience with shell scripting on both Windows and Linux · Experience in creating automated test plans and scripts · Ability to work across functions and geographies to achieve results EMC is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer that values the strength diversity brings to the workplace.
