Software Engineer (Unix Kernel) – Storage – Rapidly Growing Early Stage Company
Fast paced Start-up located in Silicon Valley.Building and scaling out storage projects for virtualization,disaster recovery, high-performance computing, and cloud storage.Focus on helping customers deliver next generation architecture for data storage infrastructure.
Engineer will be responsible for developing storage and virtualization features for our distributed storage appliances. Appliance development crosses kernel and userland and a successful candidate must excel in both areas.
Qualifications include:
- BS in CS or related field and 5+ years embedded/kernel systems development experience. MS/PhD a plus
- Appreciation for simplicity in design and execution leading to intuitive interfaces and products
- Unix kernel expertise
- Concurrent programming experience
- C, Assembly, Python, shell/awk programming, network protocol programming, low level packet tracing, debugger fault analysis
- Storage or L2 networking expertise
- Excellent social and communication skills
