RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Accomplishes work by adhering to established project schedules and priorities; editing, developing, programming, installing, testing, and maintaining cost effective software applications for computer based mail processing systems.
· Ensures quality of software designs by developing and documenting test plans; conducting, analyzing, and documenting tests; entering programming changes to fine tune performance; soliciting observations from operators; following up and providing technical support for designs in Manufacturing and the field.
· Enhances applications capabilities by investigating and recommending alternatives; developing new or modified methods of operation to maximize productivity and response time while minimizing costs.; responding to field change orders.
· Provides information to management by writing status reports on progress; collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
· Maintains client confidence by keeping proprietary information confidential.
· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
· Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner.
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
Education, Experience, and Knowledge
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related field with 3+ years’ experience in software programming, design, and analysis, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Requires experience with high level programming languages (such as C/C++) and embedded microprocessor based machine control or graphical user interface systems. Proficiency in object-oriented analysis and design techniques, networking systems, and managing projects required.
SKILLS:
· Creative ability using programming languages such as C/C++, .NET, C#, ASP, SQL, Visual Basic, and Python; some Web programming using Microsoft technologies;
· Experience with Visual Studio, Networking, Internet technologies and handheld and wireless computing solutions are considered additional assets
· Ability to interpret and convey technical concepts in an easily understood manner, both verbally and in writing; clear and concise verbal and written communications
· Good analytical and debugging skills; electro-mechanical aptitude
· Good organizational skills; ability to make presentations
· Self-motivated; ability to work under general supervision; receptive and supportive of team efforts
· Requires use of computers and handtools, such as emulators, oscilloscopes, meters, voltage meters, screwdrivers, etc.
