Software Engineering Team Lead – Catrader Product

Position Overview:
Lead software development maintenance effort on one of our flagship products, CATRADER. This N-Tier application has been in use in the industry for over 20 years. Work closely with Product Management and Software QA leads to manage scope, design and development effort. Work with the department heads to implement the product road-map and identify opportunities for process improvements. This person will be responsible to drive consistency, discipline, focus and best practices across the team to produce high quality products on time.

Candidates must have had experience in product leadership role from a development standpoint, meaning, provide architectural and technical guidance to the teams across all functions. This person will have 10+ direct reports and he/she will be responsible to manage resource allocation, training, performance evaluations and other needs.
Responsibilities:
- Achieve business and organization goals, visions and objectives
- Analyzing, reporting, giving recommendations and developing strategies on how to improve quality and quantity
- Involved in employee selection, career development, succession planning and periodic training
- Supervise and manage the overall performance of staff in the department
- Manage product release cycle:
- Planning, Architecture, Design, Test plan review, Implementation, Release/nightly builds
- Drive consistency, discipline, focus and best practices across the various functional teams in CATRADER.
- Tracking tasks and deliverables, including management of day to day tasks and escalation of any issues that impact on the Project timeline.
- Serve as focal point for the following departments.
- Product Management
- SQA
- Reseaerch Marketing
- Offshore development
- Model Development
- Software Development
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of hands on software development experience using C++, MFC, ATL, COM and SQL Server
- Five or more years of progressive software development lead experience
- Working knowledge of state-of-the art software development
- Strong best practices project management knowledge and implementation skills
- Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills.
- Knowledge of .NET is definitely a plus.
Education and Training
- Bachelor or Master's degree in computer science or a related field
