Software Enginner/ATC Systems
This is a temporary position for Raytheon.
Raytheon is looking for a Software Engineer to provide engineering solutions and software support on an Air Traffic Control System for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at the William J Hughes Technical Center in Pomona, NJ. Successful candidate will support the FAA customer by performing the following tasks:
- System analysis and troubleshooting of an existing Air Traffic Control System
- Handling of field support calls and quick resolution of field trouble reports.
- Provide support for the deployment team
- Work one-on-one with the customer, often in a fast paced environment, ensuring workflow process and providing feedback on the status of requests to the customer.
- Occasional on-demand prototype and analysis tool development as requested by the customer, often with a fast turnaround requirement.
- Work in a team environment, coordinating work flow with other departments where communication is critical to ensuring the customer needs are meet.
Travel may be required.
Required Experience, Skills and/or Knowledge:
- At least 10 years of software development and system test experience
- Existing or former FAA security clearance
- Familiarity with Air Traffic Control and RADAR systems
- Programming experience in C, preferably in a government environment using Sun workstations running
- Solaris.
Desired Experience
- Six Sigma qualified

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or a related degree
