Job Description:
The Software Project Manager works with senior Wireless Generation leadership and key customer accounts and partners, taking full responsibility for the development and ongoing enhancement of one or more of our handheld education software products.
Responsibilities of Project Manager:
- Deliver design and development projects on time, on budget, with delighted customers and a happy team.
- Create and track project plans, perform business analysis and write specifications, develop project estimates, follow Wireless Generation process standards to meet project objectives, manage scope throughout the project lifecycle, and set project quality and performance standards.
- Clarify and communicate project objectives and success criteria to the team while providing motivation, direction, and overall management to teams of up to 2-8 people including designers, architects, developers, QA.
- Manage multiple elements (software, kits, training materials, documentation, etc) that come together to launch a new product while managing customer, third-party partner and vendor relationships as necessary.
- Track and communicate project status, issues, risks and decisions to senior management.
Requirements of Project Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in role of project manager using a formal software development lifecycle and experience guiding multiple full project lifecycles from concept to delivery.
- Responsibility of directly managing 2+ individuals.
- Possess strong communication skills, team work and interpersonal skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and organization skills.
- Proficient in the use of technologies like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
- Demonstrated leadership capacity (teams of 5 or more in multi-disciplinary environments—e.g., technology, user experience, design).
- Experience working in education is preferred.
