POSITION SPECIFICATION

 

Company Overview:

The company ($7B) is a global leader in Medical Technology for medical and surgical equipment.  Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced, results driven professional in the software quality engineer field.

 

Requirements:

 

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other technical degree.

·         Mid-Level (6+years) and Senior Level (10-20 years) engineers with exceptional experience performing software quality engineering responsibilities for all stages of the product lifecycle management.

·         Expert-level knowledge of current industry standards for software engineering design and risk management practices.

·         Substantial experience with embedded real-time software design, analysis, and use of associated test tool.

·         Proficiency and demonstrated skill in C and C++ languages required; some experience with assembly level code desired.

·         Demonstrated quality engineering leadership in bringing at least one multi-process real-time system to market in the US or EU.

·         Proven track record of stability and exceptional performance in past roles.

·         Class 3 medical device experience.

·         Speaks German is a major plus.

 

Primary Job Functions

 

·         Analyze embedded device software at the module, subsystem, and system level, documenting all procedures and test results in keeping with regulatory requirements.

·         Work closely with software designers to conduct source code reviews and risk assessment/management activities.

·         Lead development of verification planning and subsequent testing of software modules and subsystems.

·         Use automated test generation tools to build test harnesses and test data sets for verification/validation testing.

·         Manage software bug documentation, tracking, and resolution; including development and execution of risk-appropriate regression test plans.

·         Interface with customers in actual and simulated surgical environments to establish user needs and validate final device design. 

·         Assess and report project execution status to senior level management.
