Dell Nashua is looking for an experienced Software Writer for the technical publications group. In this position, you will be responsible for content authoring. General Responsibilities - Participates in collaborative authoring model for assigned features, using single-source authoring of topics-based content. - Authors content from scratch. Effectively explains product features, applications, and instructions to appropriate audiences. - Revises existing publications to incorporate new product releases or features. Updates topics, documents or help systems. - May support other writers in composing and editing text and conducting interviews with product experts. - Observes departmental quality processes and procedures. Shows accountability for work. - Uses the defect reporting tool to review and respond to issues. - Shows respect, flexibility and good judgement in working with other team members. - Demonstrates a positive, "can do" attitude. - Manages own work according to direction from manager and/or project lead. Manages multiple assignments and processes. May manage small to medium sized documentation projects. Anticipates and prevents potential problems. Presents facts and information to negotiate mutually acceptable solutions. Updates management on project/activity status Preferred Knowledge - Experience in the storage industry, preferred - Experience with structured content design and modular authoring. - Documentation experience in an application software environment. - Madcap Flare, MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker, XML, HTML, Java, Swing. Required Skills - Demonstrated experience documenting software applications. - Demonstrated experience working on collaborative teams. - Able to work in a fast-paced, complex, technical environment. - Self starter who can work independently and meet deadlines. - Undergraduate degree emphasizing technical knowledge or communication skills in related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Journalism, English) Job Requisition Number: 1200062G
