Software Test Engineer
Description:
Volt has an immediate need with our client for a Software Test Engineer who is needed represent Quality Assurance on Cross-Functional Project teams, with responsibility for quality planning including test planning and execution.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain Test Plans and Test Cases so they remain up-to-date, reflecting current requirements.
- Plan and Test Cycles (UAT, Performance, Integration, Regression, etc.) in Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Maintain Quality Center Test Cases and Activities.
- Manage defect triage process.
- Communicate directly with Development team regarding software defects and requirements.
- Follow established process for defect tracking and reporting, including logging defects in a detailed and reproducible way.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with Developers, Project Managers and other team members.
- Compile and communicate test status and metrics to the Project team and Management.
- Provide coaching on testing processes and defect reporting to team members to support test activities.
This is an estimated 6-12 month position in Renton, WA and offered through Volt Technical Resources, located in Redmond, WA. Requirements:
Software Test Engineer Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years in a Quality Planning, Software Test Planning and Execution.
- Thorough understanding of Software Quality Assurance, Quality Control Techniques and Software Development Lifecycles.
- Familiarity with Testing Defect Management Tools, especially HP Quality Center.
- Proficient with all MS Office Tools, including Visio and Project.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong ability to multi-task and coordinate with multiple departments.
- Demonstrated creative and analytical problem solving and decision making skills.
Bonus Skills Great for this Position and Desirable:
- Project Management experience or training.
- Development experience.
Education / Training:
- Undergraduate degree in Information Technology or related field required.
