Software Test Engineer / Senior Test Analyst - Woking, Surrey - 45k
Senior Test Engineer required to join a high tech software house that is a market leader in their industry and a world leading brand in Woking, Surrey. An excellent opportunity has arisen for a senior test engineer to join a highly successful development team. The current testing of the company's software is handled by the Software Engineers and the successful candidate will have the responsibility of setting up a brand new test function within the company.
Duties will include creating a new test strategy, implementing processes / procedures and standardizing how the testing of the software will be managed. This position is very hands on and would suit a candidate who has experience of setting up test environments or some less experience who is looking to make a step into a more senior position.
The successful individual will be a key member of a small but growing Agile software development team and responsible for accelerating the delivery and improving the quality of In-house data management, analysis and simulation tools
Projects are fast paced, innovative and have to be rebuilt / redeveloped on a rolling 12 month basis to ensure they are completely up to date with the best possible technology!
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• At least 3 years of development and/or test automation experience.
• Strong programming skills, preferably in .NET or Java, and/or strong scripting skills.
• Strong familiarity with software configuration management systems and/or source code version control systems.
• A Computer Science or Software Engineering degree would be desirable.
• Demonstrable ability and willingness to quickly learn new skills and adapt existing skills to new areas. Self-starter and confident decision maker with the ability to work independently.
• Technologies:
• Object Oriented C#, C++ or Java. Ideally C#
• Web Services technologies would be beneficial - HTML, JavaScript, AJAX
