Job Description: The Software Quality Assurance Unit of the Laboratory Pathology Extramural Applications Division which supports the Department of Laboratory Medicine has an opening for two Software Testers. This position will define, perform and document product validation for new and/or modified applications; investigate operational and process problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel; and maintain quality records and metrics status reports; guides. The candidate will be required to maintain test library and scripts in Quality Center and quality records in ClearQuest / ClearCase. Must be able to commit to and meet deadlines. Candidates must be willing to remain in the position a minimum of two years. We are not willing to sponsor or transfer visas for this position. (010522-42320) Basic Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree with training/experience in software development, software testing or quality control; or an Associate's degree in a computer related field and 2 years of professional experience in software development, software testing or quality control; or 6 years of professional experience in software development, software testing or quality control. Other Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in computer-related field or quality assurance is preferred. Knowledge of test management tools (Quality Center) desired. Requires strong analytical, organizational and interaction skills. Able to cross-analyze software development documentation (business requirements, function specification, design specification) to ascertain system functionality / features. Able to gain an understanding of the applicable systems and business operational practices and procedures as relates to product validation. Experienced with software development lifecycles as they relate to product verification and validation. Experienced with the preparation of testing reports and coordinating project testing. Experienced mentoring test colleagues and project teams on the software test process.
