Work involves providing constant feedback to hardware and software teams for improvements.Required Skills/Experience:3-7 years of strong hands-on testing experience with L2/L3 switches.• Hands-on experience with L2 Switching protocols like VLAN/STP/MSTP/RSTP/LACP• Experience in testing L3 routing protocols like RIP, OSPF, BGPParticipate in development testing of innovative new features and platforms focused on data center networking. The team is responsible for delivery of Nexus 5000, Nexus 3000 switch and Nexus 2000 Fabric Extender software. Nexus 5000/2000 is the product line that offers innovation to address data center issues in the areas of virtualization, Unified I/O, high bandwidth and low latency L3/L2 transport. Brand new Nexus 3000 will achieve Ultra low latency L3/L2 transport addressing specific data center markets.• Virtual NIC protocol and packet encapsulation (VNTag) was created to enable tight integration between Nexus 5000 and Virtual machines networking. Besides the Virtual NIC control and data path, N5K also provides similar control and management plane functionality offered by the N1K product.• Unified I/O is realized via Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE)• Ultra low latency (~800ns) switching to enable applications such as the ones used in high frequency stock trading environment• Highly available Fabric Extender architecture to enable large scale server deployment but with very few management points to lower OpEx
