Solution Architect

Invensys Rail is expanding its operations across Asia Pacific and to give vigour to our continued growth and expansion into new markets, we have an opportunity for a dynamic and innovative Solutions Architect to be part of our dedicated Tendering Team based in Singapore.
The Solution Architect is a newly created role reporting to the Proposal Manager - Mass Transit. The role has three main components:
- Lead the technical aspects of the bidding activities for the Mass Transit market.
- Work closely with our Business Development Team in the pre-tendering phase to support them and establish relationships with existing and potential customers.
- Focus on continuous improvement of tendering tools and activity by working closely with Engineering, RD, the PLM and the other Business.
This is a senior role that requires a true mixture of experience, innovation, commitment and project management capability. The successful candidates will bring experience of project delivery in the Mass Transit market area, combined with commercial acumen and business development ability.
Essential Competencies :
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or allied discipline, or significant rail related work experience
- A broad base of Engineering skills, experience, knowledge and competencies covering the full engineering lifecycle
- Previous experience in Systems Engineering, Project Engineering, the Design of safety critical or safety related real-time systems - including test and installation environments
- Specific knowledge of railway systems and technology
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Industry Quality and Safety Standards
- Proven ability to lead cross functional teams and to provide direction setting to achieve results
- Proven track record in working in major Sub-contract environments
- Demonstrated ability to work in an environment where calculated risk taking is necessary
