Solution Architect x5 – Banking Tech – TOGAF8 – London recruitment
A Solution Architect x5 is required for a Global Banking Software provider in the City of London! Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding and appreciation for core banking software technologies and familiarity with software methodologies such Prince2, ITIL Agile. This role will require travel so only apply for this role is you flexible and willing to travel!
Solution Architect
To act as an architectural leader and trusted advisor to senior clients
To develop viable technical solutions compatible with business solutions, agreed requirements, contractual obligations and project plans
To be commercially astute when engaging and advising a client
To act as an ambassador for company and product solutions throughout a customer engagement
Work closely with client, project team members to develop a robust and viable architecture related to customer value and business benefit
Take ownership for applying 'leading practice' in terms of methodology and component re-use, covering the whole company footprint
To lead or assist with bids and other presales engagements in a customer-facing style
Develop strong relationships with the sales and delivery account teams for specific customers
Take full accountability for the architectural solutions of designated delivery projects
Form and maintain strong relationships with colleagues in product development
Contribute to, and draw from, the re-use and knowledge management repositories of all competency areas and make meaningful and substantial contributions to developing the capability of the SA practice
Gain acknowledgement as an influential contributor to creating Consulting and Licence deals and opportunities
Education
Degree educated or equivalent
* Fluent English - plus one other common business language highly desirable
Experience
Strong banking or financial services background
Familiarity with T24 or other core banking system
A creative and agile problem-solver
Recent project life-cycle experience; ability to act as champion for, and exemplar in, recognised delivery methodology
Commercially astute
Ability to form lasting high-level relationships both inside and outside a project assignment
Self-starting
Politically savvy in complex situations within both client and company
Strong knowledge of architectural methods, banking reference architecture and architectural roadmaps
Ability to apply recognised EA/SA frameworks, methods and tools
Formal architectural certification (eg TOGAF8 or 9)
Deep, proven architecture experience and knowledge of a specific technology area preferably IBM, Oracle or Microsoft based
Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior management within a client
Demonstrated ability to develop successful architectures on projects with complex business requirements
Track record of success and credibility at all levels, including working collaboratively and successfully with Licence Sales in a software product organisation
Bid management experience
Understanding of value based selling, management consulting and business consulting
Strong customer service client relationship skills
Ability to present an argument in a persuasive and targeted way
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to handle multiple projects - On a long term, Solution Architects might be responsible for multiple projects. This will ensure the optimal utilization of SAs.
