As a member of the ClickSoftware Solution Consulting team, the Solution Consultant is a key player in an exciting, customer interfacing role that couples technical and customer relationship skills to successfully sell ClickSoftware’s product offerings. The Solution Consultant will provide services to the sales team covering EMEA, including both Pre and Post Sales contexts. The Solution Consultant will present business-focused presentations and product demonstrations. Product demonstrations are often tailored to the specific customer and may require application configuration and development outlined during customer requirements meetings. This process leads to a detailed analysis of needs, identification of business problems and the development of appropriate solutions and financial justification to achieve the business objectives. The general purpose of the Solution Consultant is to support the efficient expedition of the sales process. Reporting to the Director of Solution Consulting - EMEA located in Burnham UK, the Solution Consultant will be responsible for completing tasks on multiple concurrent sales activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with the sales team, mainly District Sales Managers, to provide expert services for pre-sales activities such as product demonstrations, Proof Of Concepts, Cost Benefits Analyses, etc.
- Respond to Invitation To Tenders, RFPs and RFIs.
- Create Solution Description documents that provide a clear description of an opportunity, including the prospect’s business description, goals for the project, products being proposed, and more.
- Conduct on-site business focused consulting to review the existing operational processes of a prospect or customer to recommend an optimal process that utilises the pertinent products of the ServiceOptimization Suite.
- Act as the liaison between Sales and Professional Services for the purposes of knowledge sharing and creation of professional services estimates.
- Training of partners and internal sales consultants regarding the use and demonstration of the ServiceOptimization Suite of products.
- Provide technical support to the District Sales Managers during the pre-sale phases.
- Undertake ad-hoc projects and activities, as directed by the Director of Solution Consulting - EMEA (e.g. Industry overview documents, new sales materials)
Required Skills/Experience
· Fluent German speaker
· B.Sc in Computer Science or equivalent - Preferable. MBA – Advantage.
· Strong desire to work in pre-sales mode with new products.
· 2 years of hands-on experience with the implementation/pre-sales of enterprise commercial business applications
· 2 years experience working with Visual Basic. VB.Net. C++ - preferable.
· Experience with MS SQL-Server, and Microsoft Windows.
· Experience with development of Web-based business applications, using XML, ASP, and VBScript.
· Familiarity with SOA architecture – Must
· Ability to take a lead role in planning and organizing pilot/proof of concept projects – Must
· Ability to conceptually understand and formulate a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) for prospects using their data – Must
· Experience with international customers – preferable.
· German and English speaking – Must. Additional European language capabilities an advantage.
· Excellent written and verbal presentation skills in English.
· Stong desire and ability to travel (up to 50% of the time).
