Solution Consultant Specialist- eHIE
We are seeking strong Technical Staff to join the IMG Systems Integration team ('SI') Emerging Technologies team. SI partners with Kaiser Permanente Business IT teams to understand their needs provide integrated technology solutions that span across the organization. We develop full applications as well as extensions to vendor-developed applications. We currently have an opening for a Solution Consultant, responsible for architecture and technical lifecycle management of the strategic emerging technology projects such as the Enterprise Health Information Exchange (eHIE) across Delivery and Production Support phases. eHIE represents Kaiser Permanente's collaboration with industry-leading healthcare systems to securely exchange electronic health data in a standards-based approach that protects patient confidentiality. The Solution Consultant provides solution creation, technical consulting, design and prototyping/ coding for projects in the SI Emerging Technologies team. Responsibilities of the Solution Consultant, eHIE: - Technical expert on a project/ release team; responsible for the technical success of the project. - Responsible for technical architecture, logical and physical design of the solution - Takes ownership of escalated issues, decides between competing solutions - Ensures solution conforms to all security standards and other non-functional requirements. - take initiative in solving complex technical problems in areas which may be outside current technical expertise and coming up with original solutions and design approaches to new project requirements. - Prototyping of new solution components - Work with the Architecture and Strategy teams within Kaiser to research new technology and development approaches and create best practices around them. - Interacting with the business users / Program Management office, when needed. - Provide 3rd level support Qualifications: This position requires a results-oriented self-starter who can effectively navigate a large organization. The following basic qualifications and skills are required: - Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related field or 4 additional years of work experience. - 10 years of experience developing and supporting large applications using various tools and technologies. - 7 years experience in IT/OO design/development/architecture with Java/J2EE Design and Development. - 5 years experience leading and mentoring development teams in design and development best practices. - 3 years experience with Middleware Technology Architecture, Design, Development and Best Practices. - 3 years experience with Web Application Security and single sign on technologies, SSL, Certificates Management, WS-Security - Knowledge of SSL/TLS, Digital Certificates, HTTP Protocol and Public/Private Keys Encryption - SOAP/Web Services/WS-I - Experience in architecting large-scale, scalable, fault-tolerant distributed system. - Highly adaptive, quick learner, efficient in multitasking and goal oriented - Ability to work effectively under aggressive deadlines and in challenging settings - Excellent problem-solving, strategic and systems analysis and complex decision making skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Ability to work in a team and contribute independently. - Hands-on experience with Open source development tools - XACML experience - Unix / Linux experience - VMWare, VSphere experience - Ability to design solutions for distributed systems monitoring in a way to help alerting and troubleshooting. - Knowledge of IBM Tivoli Monitoring Components (TMS, TEP, TEMS, TEMAs) - Knowledge of SNMP - Working knowledge of Networking - Knowledge of IBM Tivoli Storage Manager a plus - Experience with architecture of Continuous Availability/ Disaster Recovery architectures - Understanding of Healthcare business. - Strong oral and written communication and documentation, collaboration and presentation skills
