Solutions Architect – Insurance recruitment

Solutions Architect required by a Business Process Outsourcing company, within their Insurance division.

The Solutions Architect will be required to develop solutions architectures to meet functional and non functional specifications, and then take the role as technical lead to ensure the architecture is successfully implemented and transitioned to production. The Solutions Architect is recognised as an ambassador with strong communication skills to preserve positive relationships.

The Solutions Architect will define solutions architectures for complex projects involving SOA/BPM principles using a best practice framework and enterprise tools

The Solutions Architect will have the following responsibilities: -

• Providing strategic consultation to UK Insurance Sector ITC projects and service development initiatives in defining or designing business processes and functions, as well as in researching, identifying and internally marketing enabling technologies based on customer requirements

• Delivering complex solutions for large scale projects and leading a multi-disciplinary team of application and infrastructure professionals to implement the architecture

• Leading and working with teams across distributed geographical boundaries, particularly with part of the team located in India

• Communicating complex technical concepts and issues clearly and succinctly to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, from junior technical staff to senior management

• Delivering results in an unstructured and high-pressure environment, introduce structured and best-practice approaches, and consistently deliver high quality results.

• Assisting in assessing new technologies and representing solution design to the Technical Design Authority

The Solutions Architect should have the following skills: -

• Demonstrated deep technical experience delivering solutions and troubleshooting complex problems with most of the following technologies:

oExperience in integration with External parties

oUnderstanding of Acord RLC and PCS Standards

oEnterprise ETL solutions (eg Business Objects Data Integrator, Cognos, Informatica)

oUML and OOAD

oAbility to understand business, functional and nonfunctional requirements  and transform them into a Solution Architecture

oSolaris 10

oOracle 11g

This is a permanent position, paying market salary and is based in the City of London.
