Solutions Architect JEE - North Surrey - 6/12 months Fixed Term Contract
Our client, based in North Surrey, has a requirement for a Solutions Architect to join their Consultancy team delivering a system for a foreign government.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
To work primarily with the Client's Project Team of technical resources to ensure that the system configuration being provided for the customer under the contractual terms meets the technical and functional obligations, within the core quality standards and guidelines. Responsible for providing the technical design documents and taking ownership of the quality of the product delivered.
Developing the technical design documents, providing advice and support during the analysis, development and testing phases of the project; overseeing and participating in the development and testing of core product solutions that may be extended or developed within the scope of the project.
Fulfilling the technical design oversight role, ultimately ensuring that developer productivity and output is maximised in terms of scope and quality and that the technical solution is sound and adheres to the product 'core' quality standards and design.
Providing support for the development process in the following specific areas:
1. To work with the project senior BA to ensure design and development conform to the business model
2. To develop technical designs that conform to the strategic system requirements
3. To ensure that all designs conform to the product technical model
4. To ensure that code reviews are enforced for critical modules/components
5. Promote and enforce, unit and smoke testing ethics within the development team
Providing guidance and making decisions on changes required throughout the design process and enforcing best practice methods at every opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience:
Typically 7+ years' business experience in a technical consultancy or architectural role, primarily in a JEE environment.
Experience in at least five of the following technologies:
JEE, JSF (ADF-Faces), EJB 3.0 (or JPA / Hibernate), BPEL, Oracle Database, Oracle Application Server (10g R3), ESB, Web-services (SOAP)
Experience in the following is a bonus:
.Net: C#, ASPX; Microsoft CRM/xRM; JBoss
PLEASE NOTE - this is a fixed term contract for 6-12 months and will be paid at a permanent salary equivalent.
