Products Innovations Organisation
With the reorganization of the Product and Innovation area, Deutsche Telekom is preparing the ground for more growth in the digital markets.
The Group is thus underlining its strategic aim to open up new fields of revenue outside its core business-Products and Innovations 'owns' a number of consumer products for DTAG' subscribers across 16 European mobile and fixed telecom operators. Products widely vary and include a Mobile Internet Portal ( http://www.t-mobile-favourites.co.uk ) to a service delivery platforms (SDP) that provides third party APIs (see http://www.wacapps.net /).
What are the SA's responsibilities?
The Solution Architect's main responsibility is to define solutions based on the business strategy and requirements.
This includes understanding what capabilities are required (based on your broad industry and technical knowledge) and proposes 'best fit' solutions to realise those capabilities.
The SA needs to understand 'bottom up' approach to find pragmatic and realistic solutions, using 'best practice' software engineering patterns and approaches.
The SA should also have a 'big picture' and 'visionary' view of what capabilities are required in the future and guide the solution towards the target architecture.
The Challenge
- Provide solutions to address difficult business and technical problems.
- Provide timely, qualitative and meaningful solution architectures to agile development teams.
- Be considered 'guru' within technology domain and add value to product development process.
- Stakeholder management across the whole business including senior management, technology managers and operations e.g. present solutions to a wide ranging audience to for GO decision.
- Understand leading edge internet technologies and building scalable solutions.
- Responsible for complete product lifecycle from inception to launch.
What Experience is required?
- We are looking for an architect that has proven experience in project delivery teams. Ideally this would be in developing B2C internet based products for leading internet service providers.
- A Software Engineering background and ideally computer science degree would be advantageous.
- You would have worked for a leading engineering organisation and have an in-depth experience in the leading internet technologies. Importantly you can dive into the detail, but also explain high level concepts to non technical senior management.
