Solutions Architect
- A global consulting firm is looking to hire a permanent, full time Solutions Architect to work specifically on a government client account/project. This position is located in Toronto. The successful candidate must have prior work exp with the Ontario provincial government.
- Provide end to end technical domain support to develop technically superior differentiated solutions. Required activities include but are not restricted to:
- Provide Domain/Technical consultation to Pre-Sales.
- Participate in proposal activities discussions with customer client visits as a SME.
- Participate in POC, architect validate complex technical solutions.
- Perform estimations collateral consolidation, bring in alliance product offerings/IP as required.
- Perform competitive analyses of products technologies to provide input on most competitive service offering for clients.
- Participate in client discussions to understand the clients’ challenges needs, design appropriate solutions.
- Arrive at possible solution alternatives that factor in gap resolution, impact related functional/technical areas, acceptability of the solution to the user community, technical feasibility efficiency.
- Evaluate review design frameworks methodologies approve designs in order to achieve functional non-functional requirements conformance to the architecture.
- Create, consult review Architectural decisions, architecture solution, perform re-engineering of architectures in order to create solution Blue print to meet project requirement.
- Perform as-is analysis to evaluate product technology solution provide solution to specialized problems in order to provide inputs on technical domain road map.
- Evangelize the usage of reusable frameworks artifacts, create knowledge/certification artifacts evaluation criteria guide provide technical training in relevant technology areas in order to develop talent in technology/domain.
- Bachelor’s degree Master’s Degree.
- Min of 8 yrs exp in developing, implementing architecting information systems with listed responsibilities skill sets with specific knowledge of the government and/or healthcare industry in Canada.
- Knowledge of the IT landscape understanding of solutions within the Canadian healthcare and/or Ontario government market is essential (knock out requirement).
- Use Cases UML Modeling - e.g. state charts, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, component diagrams, etc.
- Knowledge of UML Modeling.
- Knowledge of design patterns industry standard architectural principles.
- Key grasp of Integration with Legacy Technologies - COBOL, CICS etc.; Strong Knowledge of Java, J2EE .Net.
- Strong Knowledge of key architectural principles - Encapsulation, Abstraction etc.
- Knowledge of Asynchronous Messaging Architectures, etc.
- Exp architecting, developing, deploying supporting computing applications in a large scale environment.
- Exp developing architecting object-orientated applications using one or more of the following:
- Spring, Struts, J2EE, Hibernate, .Net and/or COBOL/CICS
- Rules engine and/or work-flow exp.
- Exp in AJAX, Dojo Toolkit, Prototype, DWR a bonus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in designing distributed applications in which multiple operating systems, languages, vendor middleware interoperate.
- Proven exp on enterprise systems integration projects.
- Use of Service Oriented Architectures in high volume transaction environments UML expertise.
- Ability to apply design concepts - layered architectures, components, interfaces, messaging patterns.
- Ability to lead a group through an architectural development process collaborate with application development teams, architects other members of the software development team.
- Ability to discover define technical requirements their relationship to functional requirements to determine the adequacy of documented requirements for architecture definition.
- Familiarity with Software Change, Configuration Management Build Processes in a complex environment.
