Solutions Architecture Consultant - 120001TJ Enterprise Systems Technical Architect Dell Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of customers. We are currently recruiting for the role of Enterprise Systems Technical Architect to join our Global Solution Design Team. The Technical Architect (TA) combines subject matter expertise and business/sales acumen in one or more functional service areas. Typically there are multiple TA?s working with one or more Principal Architects (PA) to execute the solutions design process by creating and certifying the most appropriate business and technical solution during new business pursuits. The TA works with an opportunity pursuit team to perform due diligence and verify accuracy of the business and technical solution. The TA develops the projected costs, assumptions, risks with mitigations, timelines, and labor requirements etc. to deliver a specific scope of work using standardized cost models, service definitions, service level expectations, service catalog, reference architecture, and timeframes. The TA reviews and certifies service proposals, supports initial due diligence and transition handover activities. The TA is expected to articulate the Dell value during presentation of solution materials to the customer during pre-award orals and in deal negotiations. The TA will be capable of performing expanded responsibilities for opportunities similar to a PA in a single solution area pursuit focused within their respective technical area of expertise. Specific Job Responsibilities: In this role, the Enterprise Systems Technical Architect will be responsible for: · Creating technical solutions for multi-million dollar outsourcing opportunities · Ensuring compliance with technical and contractual requirements of RFPs · Assisting with RFPs/RFIs, and other technical questionnaires · Operating in a fast paced environment where every detail counts and responsiveness is an absolute necessity · Deliver business, technology and overall technical solution planning and execution of the design process for sales pursuit efforts · Collaborate with the various internal and external teams in pursuit of new business contracts · Early engagement in the sales cycle to understand customer requirements and business drivers · Align customer requirements and Dell service portfolio to win new business engagements by leading infrastructure solutions development for various technologies within the technical service area · Provides the vision and strategy to customer and Dell internal teams to develop scalable, repeatable processes and solutions to enhance Dell competitiveness · Integrate existing service offerings into new deals · Partners with Sales Executives to position Dell value · Initiative to include emerging and acquired technologies in the solution Required Skills: · Organizational expert within the Enterprise Systems service area (Windows, Unix, Virtualization, and Cloud technologies) · Expert understanding of the impacts of emerging business trends and their implications for Dell and its customers · Experience with RFP responses · Capable of creating detailed cost models and working with sophisticated Excel financial workbooks · Excellent verbal/written communication skills · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills · Ability to organize and prioritize work flow, multi-task and work independently · Effectively communicate with all levels of management, peers, and potential customers · Willing and able to travel up to 20-40% depending on opportunity and technical service area Qualifications Required Skills: · Organizational expert within the Enterprise Systems service area (Windows, Unix, Virtualization, and Cloud technologies) · Expert understanding of the impacts of emerging business trends and their implications for Dell and its customers · Experience with RFP responses · Capable of creating detailed cost models and working with sophisticated Excel financial workbooks · Excellent verbal/written communication skills · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills · Ability to organize and prioritize work flow, multi-task and work independently · Effectively communicate with all levels of management, peers, and potential customers · Willing and able to travel up to 20-40% depending on opportunity and technical service area Enterprise Systems Technical Architect Required Skills (One or more of the following disciplines) · X86 / x64 Processor Based Systems o Extensive knowledge of x86 / x64 processor based hardware platforms. o Extensive knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and related applications. · Unix / Linux Systems o Extensive knowledge of UNIX Systems hardware platforms supporting AIX, HPUX, Linux, and Solaris o Extensive knowledge of Unix Operating Systems and related application in support of AIX, HPUX, Linux, and Solaris. · Virtualization / Cloud Technologies o Experience with Hypervisor solutions such as VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix Zen, and others o Experience with virtualization on Unix platforms such as Domains, LPARs, wPARs, Zones, etc. o Experience with Cloud technologies and related costing structures (Combined with the following) · Storage Systems o Familiarity with storage solutions such as Compellent, Equalogic, EMC, Hitachi, HP, IBM, Network Appliance, and others. o Familiarity SAN fabrics such as FC, FCoE, iSCSI, etc. · Network o Familiarity with routing and switching technologies. o Familiarity with network product vendors such as Force 10, Dell Power Connect, Juniper, Brocade, and Cisco. · Industry recognized technical certification(s) in one or more designated technical area and OEM is highly recommended o Microsoft (MCA, MCM, or MCITP) o VMware (VCP, VCAP, and VCDX) o Red Hat (RHCSA, RHCE, RHCVA, RHCDS, RHCSS, or RHCA) o IBM ((ATE, SA, SE, or CSS) o Oracle Solaris (OCA, OCP, OCE, OELACA, or OELCIS) o HP (CSE or CSA) Minimum Educational Requirements: · 10+ years relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent · 8+ years relevant experience with Master's Degree in Science, Business Administration, or Information Technology preferred · In depth Project and Program management experience on IT outsourcing and managed services contracts for infrastructure management, 10+ years preferred In depth experience in creating and managing the creation of infrastructure outsourcing solutions and cost models, 10+ years preferred Dell is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
