Solutions Engineer - Domestic Wholesale

Job Description As a Solutions Engineer you will provide technical expertise and support in the pre- and/or post-sales process to facilitate product/service implementation and to identify and satisfy customer needs. Works directly with their assigned customer-base and with their sales branches/regions towards achieving an assigned revenue quota by driving differentiated customer solution sales. Supports the sale with technical expertise. The Solutions Engineer participates in strategic selling activities including proactive contact and relationship building with technical customer resources. Participate on sales calls. Communicate and understand customer networks and deliver recommendations. In partnership with a Sales Rep, the Solutions Engineer manages specific functions and deliverables (e.g. engineering/network designs, requirements analysis, solution design, RFP responses, presentations to customer staff, etc.) required to execute sales strategies. Participate in the system design process. Participate in Account Team strategies, playing a direct role in strategy development. Liaison to solution consulting and sales teams on network challenges and technology enhancements. Provide in-depth technical guidance to sales team members on functionality of products and services. The Solutions Engineer has a working knowledge level of wireless and wireline technologies (CDMA, iDEN, WiMAX) and associated vertical and horizontal business applications supported by these technologies. Understands and has the ability to discover customer business application problems and recommend best practice solutions to the customer and is responsible for large scale opportunities with complex integrated wireline and wireless voice and/or data solution requirements (e.g. Mobility, VoIP, IPVPNs, MPLS) This position supports Sprint's Domestic Wholesale Sales Channel in the midwest. Candidate would focus on all engineering responsibilities and solution application sales related to Sprint's IP and Wireless Services for the Domestic Wholesale customer base with headquarter locations in the midwest. Candidate should have a good working knowledge of CDMA, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, IPv4 addressing and MPLS. Knowledge of LTE, WiMAX, machine to machine applications and solutions, and IPv6 addressing a plus. Candidate should be a self-starter comfortable working independently, have excellent presentation skills, strong writing skills, demonstrate the ability to interface with all levels of an organization from CXO ? individual contributor. The principal purpose of this position would be to team with the Sprint Domestic Wholesale Account Executives in the midwest to exceed sales goals by driving differentiated wireless and wireline solutions. The main responsibilities of this position include: - Create and deliver customer presentations on Sprint's IP, MPLS, and Wireless Services. - Manage specific functions and deliverables as required as part of an ongoing sales cycle for assigned accounts. - Drive solutions for opportunities that often have integrated wireline and wireless data requirements. - Work with the Domestic Wholesale Account Executives to develop and drive sales strategies for assigned accounts. - Understands and discovers customer business application requirements and applies appropriate Sprint solutions. - Works with Domestic Wholesale Account Executives to develop and maintain an opportunity funnel within the assigned territory. Manages the the action plans for these opportunities using Salesforce.com. - Training of customer sales and sales engineering teams on Sprint?s Wholesale Services. - Work with customer to gather and validate MPLS network information for MPLS network designs. Process the MPLS network designs using Netformx. Will consider candidates within 100 miles of Chicago, IL.
