Position: Sonographer
Site: General and Branson
Unit/Department: Branson Ultrasound
Report s To: Manager, Medical Imaging
Hours: 0.4 FTE, days/evenings, 8 hour shifts, including weekends
Status: Part Time Regular
Salary: $31.6328 to $38.1117 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs examinations in the imaging modality of Ultrasound. All roles are essential in providing a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and others by ensuring that health and safety policies are followed.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Successful completion of a recognized sonography program from an accredited institution. This training is in addition to any previous para-medical certification.
- Preference given to candidates with a medical imaging background.
- Current registration as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with ARDMS required, or working towards registration.
- Current registration with CARDUP and CMRTO is an asset.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum one year as a Registered Sonographer preferred.
- Hospital experience an asset.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Ability to correlate history, physical findings, lab reports, etc., with examinations required.
- Ability to work under pressure in a quick and efficient manner.
- Excellent clinical and technical skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to operate all the equipment in the ultrasound area.
- Ability to listen and take direction effectively.
- Ability to communicate accurately.
- Adaptability.
- Bilingualism in French/English an asset.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all ultrasound imaging examinations as required, and all other duties as requested by supervisory personnel.
- Ensures imaging equipment is in proper working order and necessary supplies are on hand.
- Records and computes supply inventory for assigned area.
