Sourcing Group Manager-Procurement recruitment

This role could be based in our Edinburgh or London offices.

As Sourcing Group Manager, you will be responsible for devising and developing procurement strategies, procedures, policies and standards, and providing senior level guidance across the Group. You will also devise and manage plans and policies of strategic importance which contribute to the delivery of Group objectives. Effective networking and collaboration across regions and business units to ensure the Group secures optimum value from the supply market, is essential.

Within Retail Products you will be responsible for contract negotiation and supplier management as part of an end to end business process. Upon occasion, you may be required to assist the Senior Sourcing Group Manager with management responsibilities, And if you become involved in project work, you may be required to coordinate and matrix-manage individuals.

As Sourcing Group Manager you will ensure that all contracts and suppliers within your remit are managed appropriately according to best practice and in a cost effective manner. You will also develop and manage effective relationships with key stakeholders in order to determine customer needs and meet your key deliverables.

In addition to being a purchasing professional (you may be CIPS qualified, or qualified by experience). You will also be able to evidence strong interpersonal skills, and have experience of collaborating with stakeholders at all levels. It’s also essential that you have undertaken the entire commercial purchasing process for certain contracts. It’s not necessary for you to have financial services, HR category or Retail Products experience, although it would be an advantage.

This position will be ideal if you’re looking for your first step up into a management role, or have limited experience of managing one or two individuals either through coaching, mentoring or part of your day to day responsibilities.
