Sourcing Project Manager – Legal Operations Center recruitment

Job Functions/Responsibilities:

* Work closely with LOC COO and BOO to develop appropriate sourcing strategies to manage AIG's global legal spend.

* Handle the daily operations for the sourcing, selection, and engagement of outside counsel and non law firm vendors; process requests for approval to use non-preferred law firms

* Manage and refresh panels for preferred outside counsel and non law firm vendors

* Collaborate with Global Sourcing to deliver best-in-class sourcing services to the GLCR organization

* Establish and implement guidelines, policies and procedures/processes for outside counsel and non law firm vendor management; monitor adherence to policies and procedures

* Develop outside counsel and non law firm vendor performance metrics (KPI's) and manage performance evaluation process

* Support negotiation of commercial agreements; ensure commercial agreements are aligned to strategic goals and performance targets

* Maintain law firm and attorney profile information

* Prepare purchase requisitions, approve and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.

* Maintain procurement files.

* Ensure supplier (law-firms and other vendors) compliance with GLCR Engagement Letter, Billing Guidelines, and SLA's).

* Liaise with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with the supplier.

* B.S/B.A - Business, Materials Management, or another related field

* Advanced degree preferred, but not required

* Law degree a plus Experience:

* A minimum of 5-6 years work experience in a medium to large corporate organization in a procurement function

* Management consulting experience a plus Knowledge and Skills:

* Knowledgeable in strategic sourcing and procurement methods

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills

* Close attention to detail

* Persuasion skills - the ability to sell an idea / build consensus

* Offshoring / multi-sourcing / global sourcing

* Experience and knowledge with outsourcing [business process outsourcing (BPO) or Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO), information technology outsourcing (ITO)]

* Ability to develop strong business cases with cost/benefits and risks;

* Proven background in RFI / RFP procedures

* Excellent contracts development, solid understanding of commercial terms and conditions, strong knowledge of legal contract language.

* Experience in project leadership, change management and cross functional team leadership.

* Superior interpersonal skills

* Resourceful and creative in approach to research and problem-solving

* Proficient use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point

* Must be able to operate independently with minimal supervision

* Excellent writing and presentation skills

* Ability to work well in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment with strong personalities

* Proven ability to balance multiple assignments and meet strict deadlines
